Lower Elementary (multi-age 1st- 3rd grade) & Upper Elementary (4th-6th grade):
Step One: Online Application
To begin the process please complete our online application. Please note there is a $60 application fee for each child. *This fee will be waived for financial aid applicants
The application for the 2018-2019 school year is now available.
Step Two: Parent Tour
Tours are exclusively for those families who have filled out an application. The tour is designed to provide applicants with a small, inside perspective on our school. You will meet the Head of School, Director of Admissions, students, and have an opportunity to observe a class in each of our programs. Small group tours are scheduled throughout the fall and winter. All tours begin at 9:15 am and end at 10:30 am
Step Three: Child Visit
Children who are applying to our Elementary Program are invited for to visit the classroom for a portion of the school day. These visits are scheduled in January.
Step Four: School Reports
There are two forms to be completed.
- Release form: please complete and provide to your child’s teacher so they can release appropriate records to the MMS Admissions Office.
- School report: This is to be filled out by your child’s current teacher and sent directly to: Metropolitan Montessori School Admissions Office, 325 W. 85th St., New York, NY 10024, or via email email@example.com by January 19, 2018.
Step Five: ERB Testing
We require a test report from the Educational Records Bureau for applicants to Grade 2 and higher by January 20, 2017. For more information, and to schedule a test date, go to the bureau’s online registration portal or call 212-672-9800. Reports are not ready until 6 to 8 weeks after the test date, so it is a good idea to schedule the appointment for early fall.
