Metropolitan Montessori wins Blackboard Award

Head of School Brenda Mizel and Associate Head of School Bob Reveri accepted a Blackboard Award for “outstanding nursery and grade school” on Nov. 18, 2013.

Schools are selected for the award through nominations from parents and community members, and an award committee of educators and community leaders.

In her remarks, Mizel credited the MMS faculty with nurturing children — “not only their intellects but their souls” — and credited Reveri with “nurturing and growing the school’s academic program.”

Metropolitan Montessori serves 211 students between the ages of 3 and 6th grade. The school’s sixth grade graduates attend outstanding independent and public high schools in the New York area. In the 2014-2015 school year, Metropolitan Montessori will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
