Parents Association

Parents are an integral part of the MMS community, and the Parents Association provides a friendly and vibrant forum for supporting the school. Parents sponsor social events to welcome new families, contribute to Annual Giving, organize the holiday book sale, and stage a gala benefit in the spring. Room parents facilitate relationships among families and provide support for classroom teachers.

To foster parent education, the school hosts workshops, curriculum presentations, and evening events featuring supper and a speaker. Recent topics have included separation anxiety, adoption, “Montessori at home,” Internet safety, positive psychology and social intelligence, and sex education for young children. The school also hosts a workshop designed for caregivers about helping young children develop responsibility and independence outside of school.
